nice shots ken but how do you guys get your macro shots to have such vibrant colours are you enhancing after the shot or are you adjusting something else other than the lighting, etc before the shot. I'm getting better with the macro but my shots don't look as vibrant even after i adjust the lighting to suit the environment such as cloudy/ sunny/ etc light.

No tweaking at all on any of the above, M. (One or two have been cropped to rid the margins of 'none-colour' but that's all.)
Patience, good sunlight over your shoulder and a good subject is all you need.
A steady hand, or better still, would be a tripod. All above where shot by hand-held.
 Ken.
PS: try your first efforts using the camera's auto settings apart from focus. Try that on manual.

Wow those are amazing - what is that beautiful blue clematis called? I am a bit obsessed with them at the mo.. Took this photo of mine yesterday but it was dull and rainy, so not great!

I picked it up from a compost heap a couple of years ago, Lewic. The past owner probably thought it was dead, but Clematis are masters at playing that game, eh?
Quite happy with 'from seed' Alium. Looking forward to my home grown (easy) poppies.
Ken.

If that really is your first try, Manic's....I'm impressed, very good.
Next step...pick an object that won't change over time. (Plant-pot, clothes peg, any DIY tool...etc; and try photographing in different light. A few min's can make all the difference.
Also try setting your camera on a table/chair (Tri-pod). Focus in and use the timer button so you get zero hand shake. I bet you'll get better with every attempt.
 Go forth and mistify, Manics.

This isn't a contest, nor is it a Macro event. It's just a look at a frame full of colour.
 Come-on Thissy' give us a pic of colour.....waiting..... ;)
Ken.
