I don't have a lot of room and made the mistake of propagation before research. I didn't realise Romanecu got so big....so I have to think do I plant something like PSB that takes up space but get repeats or Romanecu...what do you all think?

Also, woondering if I lant a few Romanesco in flowerbeds instead?

PSB are obviously the most productive, long term, but you have to have a few Romanesco - so delicious!

You could do both.

The PSB can be panted close together and then replanted at a proper distance apart as late as August.

Go for it.

Ours grew to about two and a half foot last year. Like Tim Said "they are delicious"If I could only grow one brassica it would be that one.

Thanks Tim/all, I will grow them :)  Any idea how long they take to mature/harvest? I am going to see what I can intercrop them with.

As it has been torrential here for the past three days we haven't planted out and they have seemed to go leggy almost overnight. Do you think they will be ok if I plant them out a bit deep?

We put ours in about 3 weeks ago and they looked quite limp. You should see them  now after this rain.

I though romanesco got very big indeed.  Never managed that myself.  Still nice flavour when very small.  Different time of year to psb.

mine went in yesterday afternoon... between rainstorms.
I've put in 3 rows of 3 or 4 - 10 plants in total.
I put them in 1ft apart - is that too close together?

I've put my broccoli on the next bit behind them, also about 1ft apart.

My PSB is looking like rubbish in cells at the moment. May start it again.

I have just been looking for these seeds on ebay & they said to plant 18" apart. I would love to try them, just a few. I would like to grow small quantities of lot of different veg to see which we like best. We will see.
