Hi weedgrower,

When OH and I dismantled an 8 x 10:

1) took photos from all 4 sides
2) numbered uprights, horizontals and verticals with a thick marker pen
3) made a rough sketch with position of numbered pieces

If the glass panes come too, number those with a dryboard marker (easier to rub off)

Our's was free so can't help you on the price.

Good luck!

Number all of the pieces with a marker pen before you take it apart .
Take lotys of photo's.
Squirt all bolts with penetrating oil, preferably 24hrs in advance.
Prepare the site where it is going to.
Purchase new bolts and nuts.(they ain't likely to be much use second - time around, and they may/usually snap during dismantling)
Not all of the glass is the same size, be aware of this, and mark the glass with a marker pen    (wash it off when put back 2gether)
make sure greenhouse is 'square' with a tape measure, and also that is level, or the glass won't fit.
Purchase new glazing springs if neccessary, before you start to put it back up, that way you won't be rushing round trying to purchase them on the day you need them!
don't try to glaze it on a windy day.
and YES, £200 is a bl**dy good price! for a 12 x 8  ;)
keep us informed of progress!!
You couldn't make it up!

All I can say to that is pound shop draught excluder strip, just put up my 10 x14 and had same problem, seems to be working just fine if not better.

                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

£200

Tell them to keep it.

Most people give them away to get rid.

When you do......try freecycle.

Then code every pane of glass with little bits of those self adhesive labels.
as you take them out

L1B is left first pane bottom, think you can work it out from there.
L1M
L1T

R= roof RL1B Roof left first pane

If you can not

Some people are just cheeky when they want to get rid of their rubbish.

You will break some glass and have to replace clips as well as nuts and bolts. They cost a fortune bought as 'parts'.

If you are paying £200 for a second hand greenhouse it will cost  you as much when you are finnished as getting a new one.

Trust me.....

Have been there

seen it
done it

(even if it is second hand experience) You can get a greenhouse for free. I have three.

Mark all the glass as above and also parts of the frame.

Try and stack glass on its side rather than on top of each other as less gets broken.

When you are fitting do not leave glass on the ground near where you are going to fit otherwise you will step on it!

I have done this twice - both times with free greenhouses.

I would have thought for that price it would have been dismantled and labelled for you. It does seem a lot of money to me.
You can put want ads on Freecycle, not sure if you knew. ???

Tell them to sell it to someone else for that price.  Do as suggested advertise for a free one on freecycle. Good Luck with it, hold on to your £200.

I got my beautiful greenhouse from freecycle, and my mother in laws from the trade it, both free.  I agree that 200.00 is alot of money.  My friend recently bought her 8/10 greenhouse for 40.00 from trade it.  once you have to buy new glass ( most of it gets broken on transport) and the clips it will double the 200.00 you orginally paid for it.  Put a add on the freecycles in and around your county, and you will def get one.

whilst i agree that £200 is a lot of money for a greenhouse, remember to read the original post. It is for a 12ft by 8ft glasshouse, not your average 8 x 6.
good luck, and let us know how you got on (wif photo's, please) ;)
