The 1 day old Moon is occulting some of the Plieades star cluster, Mercury is very close by as well. If you've never viewed the planet (and I haven't) this is a perfect time to see it. I'm not sure how spectacular it will be as twightlight may spoil the spectacle. It can be viewed with the naked eye but a pair of binoculars or low powered telescope will bring out the best.

It can be seen close to where the sun has set, the Moon sets around 11pm so it can be viewed until around then.

Mercury is dimmer than Polaris in my experience. Polaris is far more useful too, not to mention always visible if the skies are clear!

Jupiter is a better planet to observe. If you have a pair of decent binos and a steady hand, you can see 4 moons.  :)
