3 sisters question

hiya im planning a go at 3 sisters this year using crown prince. my block is 6 rows of 3 corn how many squash should i plant? i was thinking 2 at each corner and maybe one in the centre? doe's this sound ok? ???

How does two sound? Or one in each corner in case you loose a couple. They can make big plants...

I put cucumbers 18 inches apart, pumpkins six feet, and any other squash three feet. I haven't tried the pumpkins among the corn since they get a bit rampant, but the others are usually quite happy. The exception was last year, when the slightest shade finished them off.

I tried it a couple of years ago and I had to wind the squash around the outside of the square cos they were too shaded.I would grow the beans and sweetcorn together but I think I would omit the squash. You still have to put support around the square cos the corn get quite heavy with the beans climbing up em
