Cider from eating apples

Has anyone ever made cider from eating apples?  Is it possible?

Cider can be made from the juice of any apple but is much better when made from a blend of different types.

If you can't obtain cider apples then try getting hold of some cookers and/or crab apples to blend with the eaters.
