What a flaming night!
« on: March 23, 2009, 04:21:48 »
Having spent a nice day with my family, dug over a patch and put some spuds in.  Was too tired to cook, so took 1 son with me to McDonalds drive thru.  On the way home, got hit from behind whilst I was edging out of a junction.  My son was fine thank god.  But because of degenerative disc disease, they bloody cut me out of my car!  Ended up with no roof, no boot, no doors and no windscreen.  Then they cut my back seats out!  And to top it all off, whilst strapped into the trolley thing in ambulance, the clips that hold the thing in place whilst it's in transit, failed and I ended up sliding round the bloody thing and nearly ended up going out of the back doors!!!  Thankfully no more damage done to my spine, but a very nasty case of whiplash.  It's a good job I've got a sense of humour!

Always wanted a convertible and a panoramic windscreen lol.  I'm so sore today it's horrendous, Sam's starting to feel it now, I just thank god that Jack was ill or I'd have had them both in the car and in the back seat which took most of impact.  Spent most of day on phone trying to sort it all out, should have a courtesy car by end of week, the car claim should be fairly straight forwards, personal injury will probably take a while.  Still, it could have been a hell of a lot worse, they weren't kidding when they said junk food is bad for your health!  :)

Not sure what to do about ambulance, it was an equipment fault, not the paramedics, they were all fantastic.  I'll think about that when I feel like my body actually belongs to me I think.

Just read this Posie . Hope you soon start feeling less sore. Thank God you and your son have not got more serious injuries. Take care.
I agree the personal injury claim will take quite a long time, I think my daughter finally got her claim agreed about 8 months after the accident.
Sending you best wishes.

Thanks Lorna.  My mum took me to Morrisons today and someone reversed into back of her car - with me in it! It's official I am cursed.  >:(  Thankfully just a slight nudge but was enough to send me into hysterics - god it's only Tuesday and I'm sick of this week already!

As things happen in 3's have you something you can smash that you won't miss.  Do take it easy as some times it takes longer than we think for bruises to come out.  Glad you and your son are on the mend.  Regards Taurus
