Topic: PC and your Allotment

No its not about that thing political correctness, but do any of you use your personal computer to record and store your lotty info, I've just made a spreadsheet of all the items that have been purchased this year also a table with the lotty layout :)

I do a rough plan on paper during the winter and thats about it.

I've got a layout in text boxes in a word document, I just print it off each year.  Seeds are listed in Excel, but just in family groups, rather than anything useful like planting/sowing dates.  Potato varieties we list each year in a separate word document.

I like to keep a good old fashioned allotment diary.I use scrap books.Handy to use when you are down on the lottie. :)

I made a floor plan last week.  Did it in MS Publisher, then exported it as an image.

Really should start a diary, Excel spreadsheet sounds like a good idea.

Use excel, make each cell column width of 2 so that they are square then draw in borderes of beds.  Each year copy into a new sheet so now I have a complete history of rotation for the last 15 years.  Varieties/plantlists are all at a sheet at the end and always have a printoff with me at the lottie.

I use MS Outlook for my diary, have set up a separate calendar and note key dates, like when I plant spuds etc, and set myself reminders about when and what to sow, which if I'm inclined I can then export into excel to look at in a table format....  ::)

With my chillies, I record the variety on the spreadsheet and number it.
Then I write the number on the label to save writing the whole name on it.
It's easier to read a big faded number than a  long name.

I've started using mine this year to record the dates seeds are potted, planted out and harvested. I want to try and get my salads all about the same time if i can. I'm just using a table on ms word. I really should get out more. :-\

I use MS Outlook for my diary, have set up a separate calendar and .....................can then export into excel to look at in a table format....

Ooh I have just created a second calendar in Outlook and tested the export function - didnt know it could do that (and I work in IT)

What I could really do with is a desktop-controlled rotovator. Type in the measurements of the plot, adjust the webcam, and go. Oh what joy that would be  :D

Yes I do.  I have a spread sheet showing seed quantities,  prices,  what to buy,  what I have,  sowing dates,  harvesting dates,  sundries & costs,  total costs.

I have an AutoCad drawing on which I write the planting date, variety and harvest details across the planting plan. Helps me track bed rotation. I've tried diaries etc but don't keep them up.

oooo autoCad, thats getting right sophisticated!! But hey if you have access to it then great!
I found diaries and note books weren't kept up to date but to add a note in an online calendar for some reason works for me  ???

I'm not that organised, the only lotty-related things I do on the computer are chatting here and buying seeds and stuff online.
