Has anyone else noticed that large amount of Blackthorn blossom there is this year, appears to be much more than normal  - wonder if its anything to do with having had a hard winter.

yes I noticed that as well. think it is one of those old folklore thing that as long as the blackthorn is in bloom winters not finished yet. I suppose it goes with the one "never cast a clout till may is out. month or flower do you think? could be both

in North West Leicestershire our Blackthorn was nearly 2 months late.

Hawthorn only came out 10 days ago!

Rowan blossom almost gone already :-(

The sun last week has everything trying to catch up a month's growth in a week!  Scary.
