Arch similar to Shirl's in crop protection thread?
« on: February 27, 2009, 13:29:40 »
Have been looking at Tony's use of Wilkies arches. This morning I got Lidl special offers. Rose Arch CMS 240 x 133 x38.5 £4.88 each. Available from Thursday 5th March. Are these similar Shirl?

The Wilkinson arches when the top half is made up will support a 7ft enviromesh or net, You will probably have to bury the bottoms of the frames about 5"under the soil.but this will also add to the stability.

I did mention to Betty about growing them up the arches but she said they really need a strong structure cos they can get very heavy so Im going to take her advice and grow them up canes like runner beans,
