Can you eat young pumpkins?
« on: September 05, 2004, 18:24:03 »
Hello all,
I've really enjoyed seeing all your pictures of your huge pumpkins and other veg. hubbie and I were wondering if it was okay to cook up the small pumpkins if we get too impatient to wait? As it follows with lots of veg that the smaller ones seem to taste better. is it the same with pumpkins? The photo is of our ever increasing pumpkin patch. It's actually much bigger than that now.

Don't see why not.  I have been cutting back all of the long bits of my pumpkin plants now so that all the energy can go into the growing fruits, rather than the plants trying to produce anymore when there is not enough time for them to come to anything, and in the process, I have removed several small fruits.  I have cooked them skin and all and they have been great!
