Courgettes under glass
« on: January 23, 2009, 20:45:49 »
Has anyone grown courgettes from seed through to fruiting in the greenhouse?  if so when do you start them off and do you use growbags or pots?(I do not have beds in my greenhouse)
I always start my outdoors plants off under glass and plant out at the end of May but am wondering if I can increase the picking season this way. ???

Not done it myself... I would worry about fertilisation, but you can do that by hand and later in the season mildew...  :-\

Tried it last year. The courgette plant produced a large amount of leafy growth, but didn't flower/fruit much until the plant had grown 7 feet long and was out in the fresh air outside the greenhouse. I wouldn't bother doing that again. ;)
