It's beyond belief that a human being could do this to animals. Wonder if they would be so brave if a 6ft man caught them. Disgusting.

So sorry to hear about your hens.  A good high voltage going through the handle of the run is what I'd like to do - and a little moat, so they were standing in water at the time.  Ba...rds!  Don't give up though, they're so lovely to have and at least they had a good few months with you of better life than they had before.

:o I'm appalled to read this, Shaun. Too late now for the dead and injured, but I hope there will be a CCTV drive on your site, backed by the police. Have the missing chooks been found? I shudder to think what their fate might be.

Very sorry to read about this cruelty.

RSPB or RSPCA might be more active than the police

i would like to thank you all for your kind words its people like your self's that make me wont to carry on i cant put in to words how i felt yesterday i was sick to the stomach , how ever the inured birds have now been look at by the vet and they are on the mend the vet did not charge me for the treatment, one bird has been found on another plot this morning  and is back with the flock . i have arranged a committee meeting with plot holders and the police have been informed but they have yet to show there faces . i am going to make my plot more secure even if it means putting a 10 foot fence up and 3 guard dogs on
every one is keeping an eye and ear open , thanks again for your support it dose make a difference

Ive just read this Shaun..........bloody mindless cruelty!!

I do hope that something can be done about security at your site. I do agree with Barnowl that going to different sources like the RSPCA as well as the police might be beneficial.

I feel ashamed to be human when I hear despicable acts of downright savagery like this. On the other hand Im glad that most uf us.......including your vet.......can restore faith in human nature by their understanding and kindness, which was previously destroyed by inhuman thugs.

I do hope your flock recover well and you are able to replace those lost when things get better.

Sorry to hear this. How can anyone do this.

Hope you can get it secure for the future. I use security panels from a building site but the weak point is the gate although it has a padlock.

After Old Bird had her chickens  stolen and now this,It is giving me second thoughts about keeping chickens on the allotment.I do not have anywhere else to keep them.

I was looking forward to starting in the spring but not so sure now >:(
