Here is Toby in his favourite place, hogging the fire  ;D
After his evening walk he pesters me and wont let me sit down until the fire is lit.

That's really funny - hope my dog never gets wind of that trick!

When we had our lovely Labradors they would either lay right in front of the fire or even against a radiator, I swear I could sometimes smell their fur burning. My King Charles is the exact opposite as soon as the rooms get warm she goes off to find a cooler spot, very often the bathroom floor.
Your Toby looks a great dog.

Thanks, He is a joy to have.
We looked all over to rescue a dog and found a lovely collie cross and I am still not sure why we didn't bring him home.
Although, I was planning a trip to the local pet shop the next morning to get guinea pig suplies and on my way out a notice board caught my eye and in particular a card with Labrador cross free to good home, my good lady tells me it was fate.
And the rest as they say is history.

Ahhh.  Wonderful.  What a sensible dog  ;D

My old beagle used to hog the fire; she'd try and lie so close, her hair would singe and she'd reluctantly shift!!!
