I read some where 18-21 weeks like hens, but daylight plays a part as winter comes. Some put a light on in the housing to raise daylight hours? to encourage egg laying?

My sister had some once, they didn't lay, so we ate them. That may have been the season, I can't remember. they've never been bred for egg laying, so you don't get as many, or as long a season.
