Re-homing strawberries
« on: August 22, 2004, 14:37:51 »
My strawberry plants have developed beyond my expectations but are now cramped & I want to re-pot them into a larger home.

I've got the new runners in pots, although not yet severed from the main plant.

When is the best time to re-pot them please, later this year when they've stopped fruiting, or next spring ready for their main growing season.

I want to treat them really well 'cos they've given me a serving of nice, fresh strawbs every 2/3 days for the last two months & they're still going.

As soon as they stop fruiting. This will give the roots a chance to get growing into their new soil before the plants become dormant.
