Seed potatos

What's the difference between seed potatoes and the ones that you can buy to eat?

Just wondering as my tatties always start sprouting before I can eat them all, and it would be nice to be able to use them ....

the difference
is about 60 pence a pound  ;D
no they are supposed to be grown where there is no chance of desease or virus  ::)

If you're willing to accept the risk of disease, then although it's not 'good practice', your own, or s/market pots, do just as well.  = Tim
