Hi TT welcome to the site

I tried overwintering small lupins (in 4 in pots) in the greeehouse last winter, and they mostly died (fungus)
Maybe the best thing to do is plant them out now in a sheltered part of the garden, even if you move them again when they start growing in the Spring

you have to watch out for slug damage, and next year aphids

Welcome to A4A TT... I don't bother with lupins myself... too prone to slugs for my heavy clay soil...  :)

They are definitely better left outside. But I'd wait until the cold weather starts & the slugs have gone to sleep. If they're not hardend off, place outside in a slug free area or on a shelf.

I leave them in pots, normally 6" or bigger untill the spring.  Bury the pot in the ground to stop the wind knocking it over.

Plant in its final place around Easter, when the soil has warmed up a bit, otherwise it will outgrow the pot.

I would just plant them.

Their biggest enemy will be slugs and they will get them at any time.

Note; Some plants do not like being kept in pots in a greenhouse,  they like the freedom to spread their roots. I think lupins would need very big pots if you are going to overwinter them inside.
