my pumpkins start to grow and then turn yellow and drop off.  What am I doing wrong?

They've not set. Are you hand pollinating? I'm finding it pretty hard this year to get boys & girls together...

Patience needed.

This often happens to the first few fruits but suddenly they will grow, after all it is in the plants interest to be successful. They grow so fast that they reach football size in a little as 2 weeks.
