A new Bushism
« on: August 07, 2004, 19:26:11 »
I don't know if this received any coverage in the U.K. this week but if it didn't some may be interested in this:-

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful. And so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people. And neither do we."

                                                              -President George W. Bush

Ok, here's some more......

“If we don’t succeed, we run the risk of failure.”

“One word sums up probably the responsibility of any Governor, and that one
word is ‘to be prepared’.”

“I have made good judgements in the past. I have made good judgements in the
future.”

“It’s time for the human race to enter the solar system.”

“We’re, going to have the best educated American people in the world.”

“I’m honoured to shake the hand of a brave Iraqi who has had his hand cut
off by Saddam Hussein.”

“A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the polls.”

“We are ready for any unforeseen event that may or may not occur.”

“For NASA, space is still a high priority.”

“Quite frankly, teachers are the only profession that teach our children.”

“It isn’t pollution that’s harming the environment; it’s the impurities in
our air and water that are doing it.”

“The future will be better tomorrow.”

“Public speaking is easy.”

Well that's alright then...... ???

Makes this chap look sane :-

Government is not the solution, it's the problem."

"I don't believe in a government that protects us from ourselves.
. . . (T)hat's one of our sacred rights - to be stupid."

"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short
phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And
if it stops moving, subsidize it."

"Realize that the doctor's fight against socialized medicine is
your fight. You can't socialize the doctors without socializing the patients."

"If some among you fear taking a stand because you are afraid of
reprisals...recognize that you are just feeding the crocodile hoping he'll eat you last."

"I've noticed that everybody who is for abortion has already been born."

"History teaches that war begins when governments believe the price of aggression is cheap."

"Politics is not a bad profession. If you succeed there are many
rewards; if you disgrace yourself you can always write a book."

I guess Bush and Blair know by now they invaded the wrong country, and I've yet to read a proper explanation of why 9/11.Something must have pissed off the Al Quaeda, and why are the poppy fields still standing in Afghanistan.??

Some of you people are very gullible...

"The vast majority of our imports come from outside the country."
"If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure."
"One word sums up probably the responsibility of any Governor, and that one word is 'to be prepared'."
"I have made good judgments in the past. I have made good judgments in the future."
"The future will be better tomorrow."
"We're going to have the best educated American people in the world."
"I stand by all the misstatements that I've made."
"We have a firm commitment to NATO, we are a part of NATO. We have a firm commitment to Europe. We are a part of Europe."
"Public speaking is very easy."
"A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the polls."
"We are ready for any unforeseen event that may or may not occur."
"For NASA, space is still a high priority."
"Quite frankly, teachers are the only profession that teach our children."
"It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it."
"It's time for the human race to enter the solar system."

Out of all those a sum total of ZERO are Bushisms...
The same list of "bloopers" was circulated about both the 2004 Democratic and Republican candidates for the presidency, in both cases offered as proof that each man is patently unfit to hold high office.  Stop believing spam emails from democrat@yahoo.com or republican@yahoo.com.
Laziness is a trait of the stupid.

The explanation for 9/11 is freaking obvious to anyone that isnt a moron.  9/11 happened for the same reason the Cole bombing happened, the attacks on the half dozen US embassies, the twin tower bombing back in 94, and on and on.  Terrorism is a means unto itself, lead by cowards and extremists that believe everything different from them deserves to die.

Of course terrorism is a bad thing, War1980, as was the killing of thousands upon thousands of innocent men women and children in Afghanistan. It comes down to who started the war.

Slapped thighs all round!!

'Some of you people are very gullible...
Laziness is a trait of the stupid.'

Luckly a sense of humour is a trait of the British. (and John  :))

'Terrorism is a means unto itself, lead by cowards and extremists that believe everything different from them deserves to die. '

A rather simplified and lazy explanation of the ideology of any terrorist ( or freedom fighter - depends which side your funding/arming doesn't it)

ROFL!  Not quite sure who's taking the p...!

Try "US foreign policy
Quote
is a means unto itself, led (spelling! we speak English here!) by cowards and extremists that believe everything different from them deserves to die.

Apologies - that has to be a very cheap jibe, perhaps even ungrateful;  and of course wholly unjustified, war1980 :-).

After all, I wouldn't DREAM of suggesting that US government policy is reaping the seeds it has sown.  No - when various Presidents of the USA armed, financed and supported Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein, these were heroic and far-sighted sacrifices in the service of democracy, liberty, and freedom!  (ooooh - and oil; sshhhhhhh!).

How could I ever think of suggesting that the government and institutions of the USofA could be gullible, stupid, or lazy?  Wouldn't dream of it - no, not at all.

Just plain b....y ignorant and greedy.

Hmmm - I'd better find that application form for a new nationality and passport as "un singe qui se rend au mange du fromage".  A much nicer way to go than as a nameless human being in Iraq or Afghanistan.

All best - Gavin

Ssshhh Gavin, you never know who the CIA are listening to ( if their not to busy funding the next generation of terrorists) ;D

i Like the "US foreign policy"  quote, as i said - a simplified and lazy explanation of an ideology, and to think its governement policy is even more depressing (or unsurprising).

Anyway War1980 the burning question i want to know is - .............................will you be trying the new blight resistant potatoes next or not??!! :D
