mp3 cd player
« on: July 07, 2008, 16:25:49 »
As she has a new car withan mp3/cd player, I thought I would put all her cds that used to be in the auto changer on to a dvd disc in mp3 format. No problems with getting them on disc, and no problems playing them on the computor or the dvd surround sound system. But the car player rejects it as unreadable.

Any ideas anybody?

When you say you put them on  DVD, the car will probably only read a CD. Very different beast, even though they look similar.
When I do mine i use a rewritable disk (wipe when I am bored of that lot...) and just copy the files to the disk, I don't create an "mp3" disk. That may not make much sense so here goes...
I use Roxio Easy media creator for burning disks. I have the option of creating a "mp3" disk which puts the mp3's on the disk along with a playlist file. My car CD palyer doesn't work with these. What I have to do is just copy the folders of mp3's to a disk like they were any other files i.e. I create a data disk.
Hope this both helps and makes sense.
Best wishes,
Woppa

Ray made 10 of them before he realised, and they weren't re-writeable  ;D

when doing this burning to disk make sure you click the right icon as in what you want to use this copy's for as there is a difference between computer and car cd and home music centre Roxio allows you to choose this function before you press the burn tab

1:does the car player support the playing of mp3 data from a dvd?
2:have the mp3,s been copied across as data or a audio?
3:some disc,s particulay the cheaper brands are less reflective and can be choosy in players.
4:will  the disc play in a dvd player, no cd player.
5: put some of the mp3s on a cdr, this should play ok.
