One of my hens layed this today. It measures 7 cm x 4.5 cm and looks very strange. I've certainly never seen one like this before :o

I'm sure I heard the hen screaming from up here in Scotland!
I've seen similar lumpy huge free range eggs in my other halfs farm in Orkney.

Cocopops, I had an egg two weeks ago that looked a bit like your one. With a double yolk, it weighed in at 185g but was not as heavy as the one I had last year.

Sorry Cocopops...I was just having a jest RE the ciggy packet. A family member lives and works on a farm and he is mad on chickens...He really is ::) ??? ;D so I will give him a bell and get back to you.

Hiya Cocopops
I regularly get these prehistoric looking eggs. Can't work out what is going on with them I generally just up the grit and oyster shell and they seem to disappear!
They are weird though!
