Topic: An ode to weeds everywhere

Ok guys, I'm no poet so I apologise now - but having been faced with what feels like an invasion by every alien in the Dr. Who repertoire of weeds, I was inspired to write the following.  Please be kind  ;D lol

An ode to weeds everywhere

You’ve evolved that much is clear
Wherever I go, you’re always near
I dig you up, you grow right back
It’s time I think to change my tack

Up til now I’ve been quite kind
But now I’m going out of my mind
You strangle all my lovely plants
You always ignore my vehement rants

Enough I say, enough, enough
This veggie lark is really quite tough
I’m sick of looking at your ugly mugs
Smirking as you hide the slugs

So now my friends, the time has come
It’s coming for you, the dread spray gun
I’m coming at you fully armed
Be afraid weeds, be alarmed

By this time next week, you will be toast
That’s the bit I’ll enjoy the most
Seeing you all dry and dying
I’ll do a dance, I won’t be crying

So be gone, you foul, foul weeds
You’ll burn in hell for your foul deeds
The war I’m waging I swear I’ll win
And then I’ll have a very big gin!

Very interesting, it is worth being published in a gardening magazine in the entertainment section.  looking forward to your next poem.   ;D ;D

Haha Lyrical Brilliance!

And so heart-felt! I completely empathise - blasted weeds do my swede in too.

I can often be found sat amidst Nettles and Brambles muttering 'Weedol' and 'Roundup' under my breath as I pick Thistles from my backside.

But then if this gardening lark was easy - they'd ALL be doing it!  ;D

Fabulous ditty though - have you got any muso friends who could wrap a tune around it - perhaps we could adopt it as our Anthem?!
