When do you plait garlic?
« on: June 23, 2008, 19:18:04 »
Hello all. Do you plait garlic when it is fresh or dry? Not a big grower myself, but next door neighbour asked me.

When the stem are dry and flat!! then it works in a similar fashion to rafia i.e. it is 'stringy and easy to plait.

If done when green/ fresh the stems will break.

If in a hurry cut off the stem, tie a cord or twist tie to the neck of the bulb, then in turn tie that to a piece of string suspended from a nail.
