Topic: Anybody know what these blue bell type flowers are called?

looks like a campanula to me - what about Creeping Bellflower (Rampion Bellflower) Campanula rapunculoides. Has an edible rhizome apparently. Very invasive

Could be adenophora which is a member of the campanula family.

Yep, i would definitely say that they are a variety of Campanula - i have 3 types in my garden and they look very similar. They have a lot of varieties.

Thank you, one and All. With that help it is : Campanula rapunculoides L. - Creeping Bellflower and as mentioned, an invasive non-native, my specialty it seems. ;D  My neighbor also has had it for years and never knew its name.

What I read said it is Asian origin. It is a pretty little thing and tough never needing water and blends in well so I'm not complaining. Simon, on the other hand is not pretty,  doesn't blend in and probably needs a lot of watering! If he didn't know music we probably wouldn't keep 'im.

it's a sad reflection on our times. Used to be that we sent all our suave and sophisticated ones over, like Cary Grant, James Mason or Stuart Grainger. Now you've got all these game shows and talent things and we give you Anne Robinson, Sharon Osbourne and Simon Cowell. It's your own fault though - you Americans are just too polite and positive - when you need someone to be rude and obnoxious, you have to send for one of us (btw the supply is virtually in exhaustable)

We have our own glut of obnoxious but it sounds so much better in a British accent ;D

I once sent for a packet of mixed Campanulas and produced quite a variety but this is the only one I've kept.

It's called Campanula Lactiflora and it's a real beauty, don't you think?
