I grew up with Beryl Cook paintings & cards etc. I admired her enormously. She was a great artist and a lovely person. May she rest in peace XXXX

What a shame, I loved her work. She was looked down on by 'serious' art critics but I think her paintings were FABULOUS!

She certainly was not of the 'serious' art world, but her 'pictures' were a wonderful celebration of life.

didn't she have to withdraw a calendar or something because she'd painted the next door neighbours as a pair of naturists and they weren't at all happy about it ?

Sad news indeed. I still smile every time I see the Bowls club pic or any other come to that. Wonderful humour.

As I live in Plymouth I have seen a huge amount of her work and she was fantastic and will be sadly missed.
