Poor tasting runner beans
« on: August 26, 2008, 15:19:01 »
I have been growing runner beans for a few years and normally the first crops are amoung the highlights of summer however this year the taste/texture is really poor. Has anyone else found this? I grow 2 varieties at 2 different locations/soil types and all have this problem - is it the weather? We normally pick them small (4 or 5 inches long) but they are still tough and tasteless this year.

Any ideas?

'fraid I have no idea what could be wrong.  I grew Enorma and Scarlet Emperor and both have come along just fine (I am in Kent)
