Topic: Wood ash what plants would like it

I have just had a bonfire.  Am I right in thinking that the ash is useful for apples, strawberries, tayberries, raspberries, gooseberries etc when they are in flower or have fruits ?

Fruit like it early in the season but now will be fine for most.  It may be a bit late for things that have already blossomed.  Stick it on your alliums too - about now for any that overwintered and Junish for any that were spring planted.

mix some in with melon compost before planting.

did the wood that you burnt on your bonfire have paint on it? if it did i wouldnt use it, but thats my opinion, i would prefer not to put chemicals on my veggies and i would've thought that burning the paint would still leave a chemical residue.
if it hasnt any paint or preservatives on it then i wood (get it! lol) mix it in with compost for anywhere, but then i dont know which plants wood (lol) benefit best from it, i just think they all wood! (lol again! sorry   :-[)

And it must not have become wet since burning?? K is a very fleeting thing.
