Making more space on your window sills
« on: April 05, 2008, 19:11:32 »
If you are running out of window sill space for your tender seedlings then you might like to try erecting a simple shelf.  The one I've had for a couple of years was badly warped so I made a new one today.   :)  G x

The Long Haired general would not allow that in this house, Well, not unless the plant pots matched the color scheme

If you haven't got any wood around, go to Wilkinsons, they have plastic staging which you can mess around with to suit your space to an extent. I paid £7 or 8.99 for some last week. 8)

I have it just one shelf high, and I have left the bottom shelf off Northener. It is completely full with trays of seedlings and cuttings on top and it is holding up well. Obviously you have to use the bottom side bars, but as they are side by side there is room to balance a few small pots on them ;D

Its for in the greenhouse my plan is to put 3 sungolds in the ground, because they don't grow very high put a shelfing arrangement above them with my chillis on. This looks ideal cheers Neil
