Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE. This takes you to Task Manager. Highlight each application which is running and Click on End Task. That will close the application which is currently working. (or not working as in crashed)

We could not remember it either, that is why expert daughter suggested that method.

Hi AlanG - I know of ALT-F4 (to close a programme), and CTRL-F4 (to close a window inside a running programme), but nothing to close ALL windows.

Might be here http://www.computerhope.com/shortcut.htm?

All best - Gavin
