I'm growing them for the first time this year and would welcome any advice.

Do you treat em as sweet melons?

I know Jeannine manages to grow watermenlons to a good size...I've tried two years running and only produced tennis ball sized fruits growing in a greenhouse, so I am giving them a miss this year and trying again with melons...
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

I've thought about them but never bothered. Deb can you sow a couple of WaterMelons and I'll sneak one into the schools Greenhouse... the melons in there did really well, except sir never pinched them out!

hiya, evansvegpatch..welcome to the site..we're growing watermelons in our poly for the first time this year, courtesy of Tora..the seedlings are through now and will be going into a hot pit, fresh manure buried with straw , the earth will be mounded over, a 2ltr pop bottle, bottom cut off ,upended, buried next to it, plant the melon on the top of the mound so no neck rot and hope for some very hot weather  ;D
