It's a chilly one tonight that's for sure.

I've just cycled home from my parents place having done the dinner and chores and seen my father safely into bed. A whole 3 hours off before I cycle back again for the night shift.

Thankfully no ice on the roads yet...

We went to plant bulbs as the sun was out.

The new garden needed a trim. We trimmed nice and neatly and after smartening up the little low hedge along the path......... we dug it up!  ::) Someone changed her mind.

Just as the last of the tall hedge bit the dust and landed in a pile for me to shred the sun went in so I have three jobs lined up for tomorrow as well as more large shrub roots to get out.

Do I know where the pick-axe is? (I think I might sidle off to the allotment.  ;) )

More sun needed for Sunday.

Fortunately our water hasn't yet been turned off at the plot yet, but yes.......the ground is still so dry, my strawberry runners will need at least another couple of dousings before they will be happy.

Haven't done shorts for years, my freckled legs are hidden to all  ;D

Sunday was just that - a sunny day - lovely and warm for the time of year.

Barrowfuls shredded and the front garden sorted apart from plonking in the wallflowers just as soon as I can get to the plot to lift them. Scarlet Bedder this year to make a change from the Siberian we had last year.

(Hopefully the wallflowers are coping with the dry spell) ???

Amazingly warm yesterday, rather hazy sunshine, spent the whole day on the edge of the cloud, it was blue about three miles East.

Very dry.  They keep promising rain on the met office site but it disappears before it arrives.  Last night was supposed to be wet, wrong, today was supposed to be wet, wrong, tonight was supposed to be heavy rain that has now also disappeared from the forecast.

Desparate for rain.

You're doing well.  ;)

It's taken me more than 20 years to be able to hang the washing out and have it stay where I put in on the line.
Did you know certain things go at one end and certain things at the other?

It's all to do with how much sun you get at each end of the line.... apparently.  ::)

(And even then the whole lot has to go in the tumble drier... but only in the winter autumn and winter autumn winter and spring autumn, winter, spring and summer to air it before it goes in the airing cupboard. See... I'm learning.)  ;)

It rained this afternoon and late evening. No washing out!!!!!!  ;D

OK. So who was it who said "Can't be bad"?

A huge damp patch on the ceiling above the fire place.  :( And... someone waits until 5:30 in the evening to mention it.  ::)

Dry tomorrow thank heavens.

Flipping drizzly here most of the day... so the damp patch isn't shrinking.  ::) And.. looks like more rain overnight.

I love the idea of giving the bike a rest till Spring. I'm hoping to give my push-bike a holiday soon before the ice arrives.   :(
