We were promised heavy rain, and got a bit of drizzle. At least it's cooler.

Poured with rain from 4 am this morning. Rashly went down to the lottie thinking that the rain was easing - needed a total change of clothes when I got home........ the only things dry were my socks ;)

Yet again yesterday there was rain forecast for today.  But yet again tomorrow never came.  Tomorrow rain is forecast for 4pm.   I am certainly not holding my breathe.  I am pleased for all those who got some water delivered.  It is now 35 days with nothing but a few spits and spots.  And that was the only real rain since Easter.  Interestingly the local lakes are still higher than this time last year.

The odd light shower but that's all. The soil was still pretty dry yesterday.

Day 3, School Holiday ( Teaching Assistant) Weeding. Almost had the allotment completed. Weed free, soil turned over ready for a new batch of plants. I began pulling up all my onions (masses) but the heavens opened. I made an escape to my shed and I was stuck inside for 1 1/2 hours :/ Down came the rain, in torrents!

But all was not lost...I found a kettle, gas stove, tea bags, sugar and long life milk. I sat in my shed with a cup of tea and an allotment book........!!   :)

Southwater is, in my humble opinion, the driest spot in the UK this year - I took the washing off the line last night as there was a trickle and it had dried up before I cover the airer  >:(

@lilyjean - That sounds like bliss.

Here in the Midlands, the forecast keep promising showers, but they never quite turn up.

I'm caught in two minds.

Loads of rain would be great for the plots, but I want hot, sunny days for the bees.

Perfect solution would be to pour down at night, which would also stop my 6 months pregnant wife complaining about the heat  :)  then to dry up for a gorgeous sunny day all day, allowing our 2 kids toplay outside all day.

That way the plants have the water to make the nectar to keep the bees happy, and the plants would all grow happily.

How do I start a petition to get the weather changed?
I'd rather be digging my plot

hahaha!!! wouldn't it be wonderful for it to rain through the night as well as having hot sunny days.......imagine the size of the plants! It'll save me the job of having to walk to the taps and lumping the watering cans back to the plot!

Pop your wife's feet into a bowl of cool water, she'll feel pampered and cooler!!

Lets petition our thoughts to the universe and see what happens!!
