Topic: San Marino tomatos

I sowed these tomatos about 4 weeks ago, and still no signs of life.

I only done 3 seeds.

Do I need to redo these?

I did some toms, thought they hadn't germinated, shoved some pepper seeds in, now I've got both growing in the same pot  ;D

That's funny - i did that quite a few times last year, it was v. confusing until the plants were established when we could identify them!! 

My mission for this year is to learn some patience (failing miserably at that judging by the number of seedlings around the house!) & label plants properly!!

we got all of ours up after a few days- they were in a proporgater (sp?) though.

mine were planted on the shelve above the radiator so they have plenty of heat I am going to give them a week otherwise throw away and restart

A friend sowed toms and peppers, nothing happened. I brought them home and put them in the propagator. Toms were up in 3 days. There looks to be a sign of the peppers too not sure though. I'll give them another week.

I tried using a  water proof heating pad, the type you'd put on a bad back, set it on medium and put the pots with  two types of tomato
es (Pruden's Purple tom and Polpost) seeded on it  and covered them with plastic. Spritzed them daily if they looked dryish and they germinated in only a couple days. I was amazed at the speed from the bottom heat. The cover came off after they germinated as well as the heating pad.

Is it wise i put them in the airing cupboard for a day or two??

I havent tried that SBL, I dont know if they need light to germinate. If you do, you will have to be very vigilant checking them. Taking them out as soon as they are through.
