Bramblings
« on: February 02, 2008, 22:44:51 »
How often do these visit gardens to feed on seed. A few days ago I noticed what I thought was a Chaffinch with orange on its side. Today they were there again, two males and a female and I was able to confirm the identity. First time I have seen them in my garden.
I scatter mixed bird seed on the lawn so they were mixed in with Chaffinches, Goldfinches, Siskins, House Sparrows and initially not easily identified.

Hi T.   I get a couple of Bramblings most winters, they turn up in January.  They gather with all the other finches.  Aren't they lovely wee birds, I do like their colours.  They come over from the Continent.  I look out for the Bramblings every winter.
