black kale soup
« on: January 22, 2008, 17:44:07 »
i just made this soup on a wing and a prayer but it turned out surprisingly yummy. so if you have too much kavelo nero like what i have then you might like to try it.  :)

sweat down some shallots and garlic in olive oil.
add a good bunch of washed chopped (roughly) kevelo nero.
i also put in a big old bunch of mizuna which has grown past its best for salad.
sweat this for a bit.
add some stock.
cook for fifteen twenty minutes.
add a handful of frozen peas and cookfor further five minutes.
blitz blitz blitz noise noise noise.
return to pan and add good dolup or two of plain unsweetened yoghurt.
add squeeze of lemon (careful - not too much)
season well.
serve with a drizzle of olive oil and bobs your uncle.

yummy.  :)

That sounds delicious and will be different from the usual soup I do with cavelo nero - one from Rivernene recipe section with puy lentils.
