Goodbye Poppy
« on: December 16, 2007, 12:58:32 »
Sad news, our dear little Poppy passed away this morning aged 15yrs. It was very quick in the end and at least she died in her own home with the people who loved her by her side. There are a couple of photos of her in my gallery, but here is another one of her when she was in her prime.

Thanks for your messages. Carol, we have another cat, Penny, the same age as Poppy. We are just hoping that she still has plenty of life left in her.  :)

Aw, sorry for your loss Gardengirl.

Take comfort in the fact that you were with her when she went.  I know of too many cats that simply didn't come home one night, only to be found in a hedge somewhere where they have gone to be alone in their final moments.  :'(

Many thanks for the kind messages :)  We have buried Poppy in a lovely sheltered spot in our garden and hubby has made a cross which we have inscribed to mark the spot.  We are going to plant some poppies on her grave.

I've only just seen this.  So sorry to hear of your loss.  She looks so beautiful in that picture, I'm sure you'll have many happy memories to treasure.

Thank you Jeannine and gunnerbee.  Your sister's Poppy certainly did well to reach the grand old age of 19. We are down to just two pets now, dog & cat but at least they get on well so they are company for each other.
Happy gardening all...........Pat
