« on: December 15, 2007, 21:02:49 »
got my 1st compost bin full- looking for advise on how best to mix it - should i lift the bin of, mix it up and put it back in the bin or should i get one of these composter aerators/stirrers?
on the point of the aerators ive been looking at some of them on the net and they seem a bit pricey - has anyone made there own - if so could you give me some advise on making one
thanks in advance.

I've got my bins in pairs.  I fill one, then fork it in to the other.  That turns and airates in one go.

If you've just got one, empty in out on to a tarp or something.  Lovely excercise on a frosty day!!
