Topic: Sync....ing music from puter to mobile phone

Please help me,
I'm going ........NUTS,WACKO, MENTAL,***!!@****  :o

I can get the CD ripped onto the computer   No problem!
BUT..... I'm d***ed if I can get it synced on to my mobile phone.

The phone is connected to the computer, but instead of transferring the music to the phone, it transfers my phones photos to the computer.

Please please can someone help ?

You might need special software to transfer music.  They seem to allow you to do photos but require you to shell out more cash for anything else.

Any chace of a bit more info to go on like:
Make & model of phone?
Connection type bluetooth or usb?
Operating system on computer?
Which software if any you are using to transfer the music?

A niece has a bit of kit that looks just like a USB drive with a slot to take the card from her phone. She just slots her card in, plugs the bit of kit into the computer and away she goes. It's almost instant. If that's what you're looking for I can get all the details.

Sorry Baccy man,
                          I was so wound up last night I forgot details  ::)
Phone is a Sony Ericson W300i
The connection is with a USB, (the phone has bluetooth but the puter doesn't)
Operating system is on computer is Windows XP, (windows media system)
and I installed a CD that allows the USB connection to be recognised that came with the phone (it just says walkman PC suite W300i on it)

I know the phone quite well my wife used to have one rather than trying to talk you through it  it would be easier for you to look at this step by step guide Cnet published. They explain how to use file transfer mode in the trouble shooting section of the guide. If the software plays up then file transfer mode always works. The guide includes a link to the Sony Ericsson site (also shown below) where you can download any software needed, I had to download Disc2Phone as it was missing from the cd for some reason.

I believe euronerd was referring to a sim card reader the prices start at about £3. To use them you take the sim card out of the phone put it in the reader & plug the reader into a usb port on the PC you can then transfer files on & off back up or edit the phonebook & messages and recover accidentally deleted messages on certain sim cards. Then you put the sim card back in the phone. It would certainly work but you shouldn't have to spend money on extra gadgets when the free software with the phone allows you to do most of that anyway.

I know it is not the probem here but if your camera has an sd card you can use your camera as a card reader via the usb lead. Music will even load to the card as it basically a digital storage device. No need to go and buy card readers.

Also a bluetooth dongle is a good cheap little gadget to have if your computor is not bluetooth enabled

I had a bluetooth dongle (till I broke it) and it was a doddle transferring pics from the phone and music from the computer to the phone.  They cost less than a tenner, and are easy to install and configure.
