This is proving to be really interesting.
Looking at the voting you can see the attraction for voting for lovable 'softies' and also the fun pic's. Then there's animals actually doing something!
How a winner is going to be choosen from these beauties I really don't know.

they are all beautiful but I think voting ought to include some commendation regarding the actual photography as well - at least that is what guides my voting  :)

Good point, Cal'....would be interesting to find out what influences a voter, eh?

I confess to also rate the quality of the photo e.g. composition but could in this case also be swayed by a cute photo fortunately having two votes allowed me to vote for two different reasons this time.

Congratulations Eristic 10 for a great photo  :) Did the mouse get away I wonder ;D
So pleased to come joint second with the photo of one of my dogs who was brave enough to take that rather large stick from a GSD while we were on holiday at Brean Sands. I don't normally throw sticks as I consider them to be dangerous but he was having such a good time charging around with this one I thought it would be a challenge to see if I could capture a reasonable photo.

Congrats also to Paulines 7, what a lovely photo :)
Happy gardening all...........Pat

Congratulations Eristic.  I also voted for your photo and love your puddy tat.  He/she reminds me so much of my Sweepie who died a few years back.

I was amazed that the mouse was still there when you snapped it, for whenever I try to get pictures of wildlife, they disappear before I get to my camera!

Congratulations also to Garden Girl who tied with me for second place.  It is a great photo.  Mine always come out blurred if I take anything moving.

Thank you everyone who voted for the cute photo of my Meggie.

The mouse had more brains than the cat and it knew if it got out of the dish it was mouseaka. It must have been there for more than an hour and I ran the camera batteries flat getting one shot in focus.

The competition was very close and one extra voter could have swung the result differently.

Hi Kenkew
I hope this is the right place for what I want to say.

I think it would be helpful to have some criteria for voting, e.g. please look at this photo and vote on the basis of its
technical skill
the "aw" factor of the subjects
how aesthetically pleasing you find it

etc etc

just a thought

The feed backs are quite something, many thanks. Not only good ideas but some quite knowledgable suggestions there. Grawrc has certainly got me thinking in a lateral way....many of those go into the idea's vault. Thanks, Ken.
