Baked Bramley.. Yummy
« on: October 14, 2007, 17:44:06 »
Just thought that I would brag and say that I made some lovely baked bramley apples (fresh off the tree this morning) and they were absolutely fantastic.  Not at all sweet - I think the lemon rind and juice just makes it perfect.

I used Sarah Raven's recipe with lemon, lemon rind, brown sugar, raisins and a tad bit of brandy and it was really yummy.  Sorry can't add my picture as my attachment thingy has gone missing again.  Will have to see if Dan the Man can sort it out.

mmmm that sounds just wonderful Jitterbug - I'd not realised Sarah Raven had produced a cook book but on thinking about it - she seems an obvious person to produce one :P

any chance of you giving that recipe please - do you just slice & layer the apples etc. and bake in a hot oven?

shame no picture, would have loved to see it - I just love Bramley apples

What a twit I am - they're baked apples for goodness sake :-[

just didn't stop to 'digest' what you were saying properly - I often fill the middles with mincemeat, which is lovely too :P (similar)
