Raspberries
« on: June 29, 2004, 13:31:06 »
My raspberry canes look like dead sticks
should I leave them alone and hope they recover next year?
in March 12 canes were delivered. I was late in putting them in and they had sat in water for a week or so.
Three actually still had leaves on by the time I planted them. Then after putting netting over the top two more dropped their leaves...
Any advice?

If they had been sat in water for a week, it is likely you have starved the roots of oxygen, killing the plant.

Summer raspberries should be fruiting now, autumn raspberries should be making good growth, if you have not got any new canes growing or any leaves on the old canes, it sounds to me like they are dead!  :-\
