White Lisbon Onions
« on: October 01, 2007, 19:40:47 »
Hi Guys,

I was visiting my neighbours allotment and his white lisbon spring onions which were planted in April now look like proper onions except they have a white translucant skin.

I did not think this would happen.

Any advice?

They're great in salads, bulbs and all! I was told it's a sign of nutrient deficiency...

Oh, they taste pretty much like when they're smaller.

Enjoy!

That fine Cambourne, they grow much like red barron you thin them out as spring onions and let the others grow into globe onions. If you are looking for what i consider a good spring onion that does not bulb try Isakura
