Black sooty brassicas
« on: September 23, 2007, 18:04:08 »
All my brassicas are covered in a black sooty stuff which I assume is caused by the whiteflies. The calabrese has hardly produced anything. Is it worth leaving the PSB and sprouts to see what happens or should I bin them now? I confess I haven't taken any preventive measures apart from netting the seedlings to keep the pigeons off.

1. Yes.

2. When was it due?

3.White fly are unlikely to harm PSB & Sprouts. They'll be gone soon, one hopes.

4. Open to correction!

Hose em down it should clear most of it off.
As Tim says they shouldnt be such a problem soon .. Hopefully a good cold spell will alleviate the trouble we are having with whitefly.
Cheers .. Jim

Can't hose- no tap! But I'll try spraying with a spray bottle!
