Winter Baskets
« on: September 11, 2007, 15:31:30 »
Can anyone tell me a colourful trailing plant suitable for a winter hanging basket,
Cannot find trailing winter pansies,

I am part of a voluntary team responsible for our towns baskets and tubs, we have never had winter baskets before and thought we would see if we could do them this year, but as these baskets are quite hight up everything in them must trail.

Any idea's gratefully received

I made a note of a members suggestion for winter hanging basket. As follows.
1.Euonymous
3. trailing Violas
3. Lysimachia Nummularia (creeping jenny)

Others will give you more suggestions, Good luck.
Lorna.

Not colourful but interesting.
varigated ivy, I use it all the time in mine in the winter.
We don't inherit the earth, we only borrow it from our children.

Thanks lorna, good idea of creeping jenny,
thanks for the reply Doris-Pinks, variegated is much better than just green.
