My New Hens
« on: August 06, 2007, 22:43:11 »
Better late than never. These are the hens I bought 7 weeks ago. The White Leghorns are now at about 20 weeks, the Black Rocks are at about 16 weeks. (6 of each.) Don't think I will bother with a cockerel this time around.

What beauties, kt, how old?  What colour eggs do the leghorns lay?  I've got a golden legbar which I think is some sort of cross with leghorns & they are supposed to lay greeny/blue eggs - still waiting for my first as she's 16 weeks.

Leghorns are 20 weeks. They are ready to lay now but as yet have not, but I would of thought they laid white eggs at a guess. I have been checking the nest boxes & around the cree daily for 2 weeks now.
