Dead chicken
« on: August 04, 2007, 18:15:06 »
I have 2 hybrid chickens who are approx 8 months old and came home this afternoon to find one of them dead in the nesting box  :(
She wasn't ill at all, and our other hen seems fine - I'm a bit shocked and just wondering a) what could be a likely cause and b) can we bury her?
Hoping someone can help please!
She was very, very greedy and wonder if she has eaten something poisonous....
Sorry - realised I've gone and posted in the wrong part of the forum by accident could someone move my post possibly?

This may be a bit late for you. but yes you can bury her, gov recomend burning dead birds. But some wrap them up and put them in the black bins.
Hens die for various reasons a quick death sounds like a heart attack to be honest.
