Why do tomatoes ALWAYS grow out at 30 degrees to the stake?
(No, not towards the light - often directly away from it)

And 'lay out your onions in the sun to dry off the roots?' Have you noticed how that so often brings on a prolonged wet spell?

Sorry but I a comment my sister said on the laying out of onions and the wet spell. I would first like to point out she was 8 and this was when my dad had an allotment. I would say her age now but thats impolite, lets just say she's in college and I'm 22. I was her big brother.

Anyway enough waffle.

The answer to the bean question is to apply `reverse` Psychology. Start the darlings off on the wrong pole and they will soon move over ;D

Tis mother nature pulling a fast one on us for trying to mess with nature!  My onions have started to flop over, right ontop of my spring onions!  I try to carefully bend them away, and they spring back on my spring onions!  And my peas, will they scramble up the twigs, no, they languish along the ground!  :-\  Great comment from your skin and blister TraiRat, liked that a lot!  ;D
