antirhynum (snap dragon) rust?
« on: June 14, 2004, 10:31:11 »
There are small brown blobs on the underside of my snap dragon (I can't spell the other name) leaves. The tops of the leaves are turning yellow.

I noticed this last year towards the end of the summer. It's much earlier this year.

They have self-seeded, so are in exactly the same space as last year, and the year before.

Is there anything organic I can do to stop it, other than not having them in the same ground again?

What causes it? Will it spread to other plants?
gone to pot :D

if the tops and leaves are turning yellow sounds like the plants are under stress try feeding up with tomato food and watering regulary whens the last time you improved the soil adding manure or compost or any fertizler?
If you have rust best pull them up and dispose of them if your sure its rust have never heard of it spredding to anyother plants just snapdragons.
You can get seeds of snapdragons that are not prone to rust like the old varietys and they are not expensive might be an idea for next year.
