Veg (and fruit) in my garden.
« on: June 13, 2004, 14:42:06 »
I am pleased to report things are realy coming on in my garden plot.

Strawberries are coming thick and fast (Mmmm!),

The first of the summer cabbages are ready to cut tonight

Early potatoes nearly ready for cropping.

Runner beans in an growing away nicely

First fruits coming on the indoor tomatoes, outdoor ones not far behind.

Summer rasperry canes absolutely laden with (as yet unripe) fruit.

Shall i go on?

Absolute heaven i am sure you'll all agree.  ;D

Finishing the autumn sown broad beans (went to Safeways - saw prepacked beans in pods about 12oz for £2) - Hessayon says 20lb from 10 ft double row - got probably a 4ft double row and reckon I have had at least 10lb from it, so I am happy  ;D

Peas are podding nicely.

Finished the Premiere first early spuds, but got loads more to go through - salad anyone this week?

The one lot of overwintering garlic is turning yellow, so hopefully soon for harvest (though pulled one up and had it in a curry last night).

Onions are bulbing up nicely - planted sets in autumn.
